FS#2418 - "Dir buffer is full" with large # directory entries
Running CVS-041221 on an Archos Player V2. Just
flashed FW firmware_v2.bin size: 70214b dated Nov/8/04
07:49.
When I change into a directory with a large number of
entries (/Rock - 83 Subdirs, 417 files) I briefly see :
“Dir Buffer Is Full!” and then the Player only displays
a subset of the files and subdirs that exist.
When connected via USB to a computer, all the subdirs &
files are there; this appears to be a problem with the
FW being able to read the # files in the subdir.
The voice module reports that the last file in the
directory is “File 383 Audio” and the last subdir is
“Folder 17”
This happened with the 2.3 release, also, but did NOT
happen with the 6-month old version of Rockbox that I
just replaced. (rockbox-2.2-recorderv2.zip - 453,962
bytes – ajbrec.ajz was 185,972 bytes and dated Mar-11-04)
Hope this helps.

It’s on page 40 in the manual. Set the “Max files in dir
browser” to an appropriate value.
Also note that you have to restart the jukebox for the
settings to take effect.
