FS#3004 - Manual cleanup and screenshot experiment

Replacement for patch 1425583, containing some cleanups
of chapter 5, the preamble and the platform files.
Work in progress.
Instead of a patch I include the whole manual source tree.

Henrico, when you have something you think is ready for
commit, please create a patch of that. I updated the
directory structure in cvs to reflect your ideas. Also,
until the image issue has been agreed upon, I think we
should just leave out images in the source. I think we
should go for the resolution-bitdepth as written in the
wiki. See what you think of that.
