FS#324 - Don't allow builds from wrong dirs

This is a patch to the apps and firmware makefile that spits
out a (hopefully) informative error message if you type
make in the apps or firmware directory rather than in a
build directory (ie. strongly encourages the use of the
tools/configure script). This patch is really for newbies who
don’t want to read the documentation on how to build
rockbox (keeps a possible FAQ from being asked).

Actually, I didn’t. I just had the same idea but implemented it in
a different way. Bills way looks better. I’ll look at it
soon.
