FS#418 - Resume after End of Song List.

Occurs when JB turned off after “End of Song List”
message, with Resume set to Yes and Repeat set to
Off.

After the last song plays, “End of Song List” message is
displayed, then a browser screen with folder contents. If
the JB is turned off in the browser screen, and then
powered up again, play resumes starting with last few
seconds of last track in folder (the last one played
before “End of Song List”).

Repeatable by selecting last track in folder, advancing
nearly to the end, waiting for “End of…” msg.and
browser scrn, then pressing Off. On the next power up,
the last seconds of the song will play.

Also, play then continues starting from first track as if
Repeat were set to All, even if set to Off.

JBR20, ROM 1.26, Rockbox 1.4

This report is very old and concerns a Rockbox version from eons ago.

Lots happen in the Rockbox all the time, and if you still have
problems with this matter I suggest you file a new entry.

This is fixed in CVS.

From mailing list, by rb_dev:

The recent fix put into wps-display.c
v1.69 (for
original bug report 622833) still does not completely
fix
the problem. At least on the Archos Player, if
resume is turned on and
a you start playing a file
from the browser, when the last song in the
directory
is finished and the player is shut off, upon the next
power-
up the player starts playing the last portion of
the last song that had
finished playing when the end
of the playlist was reached.

All of the mailing list mesage detailing the remaining
problem was not copied in the previous message. See:
http://rockbox.haxx.se/mail/archive/rockbox-archive-2003-04/0532.shtml for complete details.

This is because the Player/Studio doesn’t save the resume
info until the next time the disk spins up. If the song ends
and the disk doesn’t spin up before you shut off the player,
the “old” resume info is used, and it plays the last seconds
of the last song.

I don’t know if we should fix this, since it causes an extra
spinup when the playlists reaches the end.
