FS#476 - (#623180) Screen goes black when booting 1.4
When I heard that the new Rockbox 1.4
supports “resume” I immediately downloaded and
installed it on my Archos Jukebox Recorder 20
(JBR20101).
When the Archos booted up the screen was all black.
When I removed the .rockbox directory and the
ajbrec.ajz files, I was back to Archos ver 1.26 and a
normal Archos screen.
I believed I followed all the rules of download and
installation. Unfortunately, because the Rockbox
screen was black, I wasn’t able to go to Menu→Debug,
etc.

It must be the LCD contrast that is too low. Try this:
- Press F1
(takes you to the menu)
- Press Down
- Press Right
- Press
Down twice
- Press Right
- Press Down three times
- Press
Right
- Now you can adjust the LCD contrast with the up/down
arrows
Then please report the value that gave a visible LCD
display and also go to menu→debug→hw info and tell us the values you
read.
Thank you
