FS#4795 - "Basic battery monitoring" not working on ipod nano.

Just wanted to report it..

“Basic battery monitoring for ipod 5g, should work on other ipods as well, but needs testing and stuff.”

Unfortunately it’s not working properly on ipod nano [mine: 4gb, black] - it shows 100% all the time, even when the battery is almost empty.

Have you compiled yourself, or did you just install a new daily build? The feature isn’t enabled by default, you still have to make a change or two in config-ipodnano.h

Yeah, some nano dev needs to add battery-to-percent values for the nano’s small battery and possibly add another battery type specific to it (don’t think that latter should be necessary). The basic functionality I added is only to monitor battery voltage level, and get at least somewhere in the ballpark percentage reporting on the ipod 5g (the only ipod I have to test).

Could anyone actually submit a complete tutorial what to change to get it working properly? So that maybe one of the developers could use it to do the fix? I really don’t know how to do it myself and the lack of battery metter on my nano is really a pain in the ass… please? :)

The attached patch enables the battery status display on the iPod nano. I’ve tested it through two complete power cycles and it seems to be at least approximately accurate. I have only tested it on the 4GB nano.

Just come across this thread. Has the patch now been included in the daily build (sorry, but I do not know how to check this out myself).

The battery indicator on my iPod Nano 4gb does seem to work, so I am guessing that it is included. If not, what will this patch change?
