Same problem here. AAC won't play, while ALAC still works. Others untested.

On my iPod 5G, attempting to play an AAC file leads to rockbox crashing, and a reboot is necessary to continue using the player. The files in question all play fine using the apple firmware.

AAC codec has had several improvements recently.
Please verify that the problem persists.
