FS#5229 - Backlight left "on" when booting to original Apple firmware
When booting to original firmware by pressing Menu at startup, the backlight is left on, and then Apple firmware takes over. The backlight remains "on" all the time - you have to enable it, and then disable again in order to switch it off. Could the bootloader switch backlight off just before letting Apple take over?

Can you try a recent bootloader and confirm that the issue is present? There have been no other reports of this problem from what I'm aware.
I'm going to close this since the user hasn't responded in nearly a month and this issue has not been reported elsewhere from what I know.
