FS#5815 - 5G Manual typos and fixes
I have supplied both page numbers and section numbers. Page numbers are given for the 13 August 2006 PDF Ipod Video manual
Page 9
1.3 Warning. Second sentence should read, “In contrast to notes mentioned above, ….” Remove “as” and add comma.
1.3 Warning. Last sentence should read, “To make this easier, there is an icon shown in the margin on the right.” replace “like here” with “on the right”.
Page 10
1.4.2 Windows Users Step 2 should read, “Locate the player by opening a command window.” Window here should be singular.
Page 15
1.6 Running Rockbox First sentence should read, “Remove your player from ….” Insert space between “player” and “from”.
Page 23
2.3.3. Auto Update first sentence should read, “If AUTO UPDATE is set to ON, each time the player boots, ….”. Make “play” into “player”.
2.3.3. Update now, add full stop to end of first sentence.
Page 24
2.3.3 Need an EOLN to stop /.rockbox/tagcache_changelog.txt from going off the end of the page.
Page 25
2.4 Status Bar (which is the first dot point) the last sentence needs to read “In contrast to all other items, the status ….”. Convert “item” to “items” and add comma.
Page 30
3.8 The first paragraph has a long run on sentence. Maybe a rewrite could look more like this…
This menu allows you to work with playlists. Playlists can be created in three ways. Playing a file in a directory automatically causes all the files in the directory to be placed into a playlist. Playlists can be created manually by either using the FILE MENU (see section 2.2.2 (page 19)) or using the PLAYLIST OPTIONS menu. Both automatically and manually created playlists can be edited using this menu.
Page 32
4.2 Bass first sentence should read, “This emphasizes or suppresses the lower (bass) sounds….”. Decapitalise the word “bass”.
Page 40
5.1 Replaygain. This sentence starts on page 39 and goes onto page 40. Where it says “(vorbis tags respectively).” It should read “(or vorbis tags).”
Page 41
5.2 File View - Show Files - Music. Last sentence should, I think, read, “Files and direcotries starting with a full stop “.” or with a hidden flag set are hidden.” I think the full stop should be flagged by words as well.
5.2 File View - Follow Playlist. First sentence should read “This option determines what ….”. “Determine” should be converted to the plural “determines”.
Page 49
6 Plugins. Sentence in first paragraph should read “Most plugins will not interfere with music playback but some of them will stop playback while running”. The word “running” was mispelt.
Page 66
6.1.19 Pause The Game. First sentence uses “Press Select” and the second one uses “Hit Select”. This should be standardised.
I will look at the second half later.

Still left to do:
2.3.3. Update now, add full stop to end of first sentence.
5.2 File View - Show Files - Music. Last sentence should, I think, read, “Files and direcotries starting with a full stop “.” or with a hidden flag set are hidden.” I think the full stop should be flagged by words as well.
