FS#5853 - Backlight dimming setting
Hi,
I'm using rockbox on X5 for several weeks, and I think it will be more usable if the backlight doesn't goes totaly off after the backlight period, such as the original firmware. It put the lcd in a semi-backlighted before put it totally off.
I don't now what kind of job is it, but it can be very interesting for end users ;)

Closing all feature requests.
The LCD is put to sleep mode when BL goes off to save power, so nothing /is/ displayed.
I second the original post. I use a H340 and wish that the backlight would simply dim to a low setting first instead of the screen switching off completely.
Ready backlight brightness
Time until idle backlight
Idle backlight brightness
Time until LCD off
Users who still wanted the screen to switch off straight after the ready backlight could simply set "Time until LCD off" to zero.
.. or something more elegant.
Sorry to double post, just realised the last sentence of the previous post wasn't a very clever one, and can't edit.
Ready backlight brightness.
Idle backlight brightness.
Time from ready to idle backlight, or skip.
Time from ready to LCD off (must be greater than Time to idle backlight).
This would be a very good feature. It would save me so much battery.
This is a feature that I liked about the Gigabeat software as well. Although in the original software, you could either have the screen dim or shut off. I think the option to have it dim and then shut off after a specified time would be great.
I agree, this would be a great feature. You should be able to set a dimming level. However, this should be overwritten if plugged in and the selection to always keep the LCD lit up when plugged in is selected.
