Details

When initiallly installed, firmware for recorder 20 came up
with screen contrast at the lowest possible setting. This
was alarming and made it quite a challenge to find the
contrast setting in a completely unfamiliar menu structure.

it's not really a bug though is it? i had the same problem but if
u dont do it in a darkened room and actually have a light on u
can see the screen perfectly. ne way after setting the contrast
to the desired setting u wont get this problem =)
