FS#703 - Problem with Cyrillic support for filenames
Sorry for dublicate - I decide to register.
Even if I use cyrillic font (loadable) filenames don’t
displayed correctly. But info from IDtag displayed OK.
IMHO:the same will be with any non west-european
language support (greece, for example - see another bug
report http://rockbox.haxx.se/mail/archive/rockbox-
archive-2003-01/128.shtml).
I suppose that reason of problems with cyrillic (and
other) fonts - missing support for unicode in fat.c;
Any ideas?
P.S. : JBox Recorder20 (upgrated to 40Gb);
Version: 20030103( the same with v.1.4)
P.P.S. : I attached test file for experiments.Name file
and IDtag info are the same; all symbols in name and ID
(cyrillic) must be displayed something
like “ABEKMHOPCTYXabeckmopyx” with using cyrillic
font (from Barinov for example).
Sergei.

Today I noticed that filename of attached mp3 file changes
when downloading. Instead “long” cyrillic name I see “short”
abracadabra. The part of the fat with correct filename looks
like in the add. attached file (ascii-hex). Note that cyrillic
symbols are unicode and first byte for cyrillic is 04h (the real
used symbol range is 0410 - 044F).
This is fixed in CVS.
