FS#7398 - Undefined instruction at 00057710
Hi,
Since build r13783-070704, every time I listen to music (mp3@192kbps) I got a “Undefined instruction at 00057710” and my iPod freezes. The moment when it happens varies (1st time after 10min of listening, 2nd and 3rd time after 25min)
Battery is 50% full.
Regards.
Enguerran

Seeing as it's Cleanup Week,
I'll optimistically close this.

Seems not to be related to the bitrate. I had this with 64,128 and VBR.
Yep, I didn’t try with other bitrates
This should now be fixed; please can you try a new build and report back?

bug still open (problem also with playing ogg vorbis, flac, etc)
Have you also updated your bootloader?
I use bootloader from May 23. (the one under the link in the manual) and also with the 070712 build the bug apears, though
the address changed (IIRC 57d10).
Though, I can not see a pattern: The same MP3 sometimes crashes sometimes not.
Worse, I had to open my iPod several time because reset did not work.
The bug still exists with build r13851-070711. I used bootloader of May :|
Experiencing the same thing on an iRiver H10.(000591BC)
I’m also having this error crash both my iRiver H10 6 GB and my iRiver H10 20 GB. It’s been happening with current builds for the past 3 weeks or so. I’m using the latest bootloader on both of my iRivers. Maybe it has something to do with the processor scaling feature that was added? Everything was fine up until that commit.
I can also confirm this happening on my Ipod 4G using build r13923-070717. I have installed the bootloader linked to from the manual.
I had no crash now for a week, but my iPod (4G,gray) was mostly fully charged. Now with the battery nearly empty, I get often
crashes. It seems not to be related to a specific MP3,OGG or WAV, as it always played t after reboot w/o crash.
So, what is different in the behaviour when the battery is below 50% ?
I haven’t had any crashes on my iPod (4G,gray) whilst using Rockbox whilst plugged into a usb port. I however have had crashes with it close to fully charged. (Perhaps due to my battery being > 2 years old??)
I have had the same problem on my Ipod 4gen greyscale, but I get “Undefined Instruction at 00057948”. I am using the build from 7/18/07 with the latest bootloader. It happens every 1/2 hour to every 8 hours. Doesn’t seem to depend on what mp3 file I am playing or battery level or anything. I was getting the problem before this build as well, but the error may have had a different number.
Could be same as
FS#7472Is this still a problem? It (tentatively) looks like
FS#7472is fixed.Yep, seems to have been fixed. I’ll do more testing and report in the following days
