FS#7545 - iPod: use Hold Prev and Hold Next to scroll page-by-page
Scrolling long lists – as when browsing a moderately large collection in the Database or File browsers – is rather slow and tedious with the scroll wheel. This patch remaps Hold Prev (left of Select on a click wheel) from Root Menu Init to Page Up and maps Hold Next (right of Select on a click wheel) to Page Down, for faster and easier browsing through long lists. Instead of spinning your thumb rapidly, you cna just hold down a click wheel button.

On the forum, tdtooke suggested another very good patch that addresses this problem: http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/5594 #5594 adds good wheel acceleration, making the wheel very usable. On my hardware, #5594 allows faster scrolling than my simple Prev/Next button patch, and is clearly an exellent approach for anyone who likes the clickwheel.
