I improve the greek translation can u tell mou how to make a .diff file into a .lng file thnx in advance

it is perfectly fine to post patches (.diff) here…

If you want the .lang file for yourself, copy the .diff to your rockbox source directory (at the spot where there are subdirectories called apps, firmware, doc,…

then type patch -p0 < greek.diff

and the file apps/lang/greek.lang will be patched.

There are a lot of wrong (missing) entries in this patch. For example LANG_SYSFONT_CHANNEL_MONO. The dest for this string should read recording: “Μονοφωνικό”, but instead the string is left empty. Unless someone can do some magic search&replace, I’m afraid you’ll have to redo the translation, and follow the instructions on the website to the letter this time.

There are problems with the latest patch too.

for example:

id: LANG_SYSFONT_CHANNEL_MONO
desc: in sound_settings
user:
<source>

  • : none

recording: “Mono” </source>
<dest>

  • : “Μονοφωνικό”

recording: “” </dest>

is wrong, you should put the Translated text in the <dest> section in the same place as the english text is in the <source> section.
So the <dest> section should look like this:

<dest>

  • : none

recording: “Μονοφωνικό” </dest>

Nianios Romanos, there is no need to try to IM me, there are more than enough ways to communicate already (IRC, tracker, forum, forum pm, mail).
