FS#7716 - Auto Config load for Car Adapter Mode / Unplugged Mode
here is my patch that will allow loading of specified config files when the device is plugged into a charger, or unplugged from a charger. both require that car_adapter_mode setting be ‘on’.
the config files are specified by using the “Manage Settings” –> “Browse .cfg Files” menu. Holding the “select” button while selecting a .cfg file to get to the OnPlay context menu will show two new options: “Set Car-Adapter mode Config”, and “Set Unplugged mode Config”.
Once the config files are set for each mode, they will be loaded the next time the mode switch is detected (when the device is plugged or unplugged into a charger, and car_adapter_mode is on). Also, if the current mode is detected as being either car-adapter or unplugged, then the current settings will be saved to the default config file, and the current mode config file. after that save, the new mode config will be loaded and applied.
i’ve tested this a lot, and it seems to work pretty well. i’ve found that the most convenient way to start this off, is to turn on car_adapter_mode, and then plug into USB. copy the config.cfg file to two new files, named “car_config.cfg”, and “unplugged_config.cfg”. you can hand edit any obvious changes. then unplugged, reboot, and set your mode config files.
let me know any problems you find, or even if you find this useful.

this has been requested a few times, but
its rejected because its very easy to
just manually load the config you want
and doesnt add bloat for the people who
dont want this feature.
