FS#8061 - Manual Sec 7.5: Scrolling - Suggestions

1) Make a firmer distinction between “Automatic Line/Text Scrolling”, “Manual Screen Scrolling”, and “Page Scrolling”.

2) The description for the Display→Scrolling→Screen Scrolls Out of View function is very difficult to understand. It took me a long time to figure it out and in my search to discover what it meant, I found many records of people with the same problem asking around in the IRC channel. I propose it be changed to something like the following:

Screens can be scrolled left and right by holding the left and right buttons. (*This isn’t mentionned earlier in the manual) Setting this option to “Yes” will keep the entries at their fixed positions and allow them to be scrolled out of view, whereas “No” will only scroll those which surpass the margins.

3) The description for the next entry “Screen Scroll Step Size” should probably be changed to match the “Scroll Step Size” terminology:

Controls how many pixels the screen scroll should move for each step.

Funny. Some hours ago I tried to get Screen Scrolling working. The H300 Manual says “PLAY+LEFT/RIGHT” but this doesn’t work. Now I know that it is only LEFT/RIGHT and this works now. Thank you Marc ;)

Some, hopefully, improved descriptions for these options. Note: The button actions for “Screen Scrolls Out Of View” are missing for many players. I have added the Long-Left/Right for the Sansa e200 because that’s the player I have and can say with confidence that this is the keymapping, and have also changed the H300 definition to be the same as per the previous comment, but the iPods, Gigabeat, etc, are all missing buttons descriptions so if anyone who knows what they are could help add those it would be great.
