FS#817 - *PANIC* when playing whtever MP3

Archos Jukebox 6000 Player ROM 5.03
Tested with all daily builds available as of today
daily build web page

Whenever i try to play a MP3 file, the rokbox kernel
reports a *PANIC*. If you want me to do some testing on
old daily builds to see which one introduces the bug,
email me at <ed.gomez at free.fr>

Rockbox 1.4 and daily builds released closed to 1.4
were working fine. I left testing daily builds between
2002-12-15 and ~ 2003-01-20

You should be getting more text than just PANIC. What else is shown
on screen?

Project Manager

Does this still happen for you?

PANIC
Dir entry 1

Is the error i get when i try to run an m3u or mp3 file.
I am running Jukebox Studio 20 with the rockbox-2.0

1.4 works fine

Have you run scandisk lately?

I get the following warning:

*PANIC*
Dir entry 2 in sec
tor 4E is not free
! FF FF FF FF

I get the following warning:

*PANIC*
Dir entry 2 in sec
tor 4E is not free
! FF FF FF FF

I have a Jukebox Recorder 20 and the warning only shows up
with Rockbox v 2.0

Have you run scandisk lately?

yes

maxfisher,

I would really like a dump of your Master Boot Record
(sector 0) and of the boot sector of the main partition
(probably sector 63).

Can you do that?

I’m not really sure how to do that, sorry…

After updating to 20040204 (from aug 03 bookmark build), I
get same problem.
PANIC:
Dir entry 1 in sector 2 is not free
44 4F 43 53

Running scandisk (win2k error check) with auto-fix
indicated/recovered corruption in my Playlists/ and
.rockbox/ directories. With bookmarks on and my first
action to play a playlist (which failed because of
bookmark-format changes), this may indicate corruption from
file-writing, since those two dirs are touched with
bookmarks on.

After scandisk and reverting to old build, mp3s play fine.

Project Manager

How about the latest daily build?
