FS#8384 - Rockbox crashes after changing metadata of MP3 files on hard drive
Whenever I change the metadata (title/artist/album) information of an MP3 file that is on my H10, upon disconnecting from USB and going into Rockbox, Rockbox freezes soon after startup when it is detecting the metadata changes. I then have to do a hard reset in order to make my device functional again.
I currently have dircache and “Load database to RAM” enabled.

I have exactly same problem on my X5.
When “Auto update” is enabled, Rockbox crashes on every boot. When disabled, “Update now” results in crash.
i also enabled “dircache” and “load to RAM”.
Same here on my X5L-30 with a current build. However, when I use revision 15946 of apps/tagcache.c and ….h, it works fine
again. Something in revision 15955 (”Preserve song statistics when moving files or altering metadata …“) seems to have broken it.
Good luck with bug hunting (-;
Would you please check
FS#8423?i have no problem with the patch, but i can’t sure if there’re another wierd operation.
I tried with the latest code from the repository, as your patch was obviously committed already (wow).
Both “Auto update” and “Update now” work fine again, at least for when I add some new files to the
player. Thanks! (-:
