Id3 info not read correctly from some BBC podcasts e.g.

I navigate to 'show track info' and see that only the 'Comment' field is picked up. Banshee & Rhythmbox both read all id3 info correctly.

The incredibly long comment is what's causing your problem. I don't know what the limit is but

"Despatches from the BBC's foreign correspondents. This week: Bridget Kendall reflects on the continuing strain in Anglo-Russian relations. In Tokyo, Chris Hogg tries to get the Japanese perspective on whaling. Stephen Evans travels to the US state of Michigan where despite high unemployment and poverty, he finds hope and kindness. In the north of Afghanistan, Alastair Leithead braves freezing weather to assess efforts to eradicate the cultivation of poppies for opium and Matthew Price joins the media scramble on George Bush's hectic tour of the Middle East."

definitely seems to be over it. :)

The limit is 300 bytes for all frames in total. The comment is over 500 bytes, so none of the other frames will fit. We should be able to increase the buffer size for the targets with plenty of memory, especially now when we have Metadata On Buffer implemented.

Great if the comment can be kept (although not that easy to read in current UI), truncating it would also be fine. For me it's much more important that the title/artist/genre is read correctly.

Would it be possible to switch the priority from the comment field to the more valuable (and generally shorter) title/artist/year/genre fields?

Unfortunately, there is no priority, but Rockbox reads the frames in the order they appear in the tag.
