The attached patch slightly modifies the keymap of the H300 non-LCD remote to allow access to the browser from the WPS (by use of LONG PLAY).

I know that it works ok from an H300 with a non-LCD remote, but I don't know if I've broken the LCD remotes completely.

Please could users of both the H100 and H300 LCD remotes try this patch and tell me that the WPS context keymap is unaffected. For reference, you can see the intended mapping here:

Note to self: Another thing that needs changing is the YES/NO screen - currently only NAVI selects Yes, and the remote has no NAVI...

A test build for H300 series - SVN r16278 plus this patch - should be available at .

It'll probably be a very slow download thanks to my choice of ISP, so you may find it faster to build your own.

Note - reopened as this is still a valid bug fix (i..e the non-LCD remote is useless). However:
a) no LCD remote owners have responded,. so I have no way to know if it's broken that.
b) my own H300 is currently in Sweden, so I can't test it.

When (b) is resolved (and I've retested), I'll commit this and see if any LCD remote owners notice anything.

Tested on H100:
non-LCD remote: works
LCD remote: Select from the WPS doesn't work anymore (long Play works, but the LCD remote has a button for that). Select from the file browser and Main Menu works. It also removes the possibility to invoke the pitch screen via long Play from the WPS.

The attached patch removes the changes made to the H100 LCD remote -- using long Play for accessing the browser isn't necessary since that remote has a Select button. I don't know about the H300 LCD remote but my guess would be that it's the same situation as for the H100 LCD remote.

Thinking about it, wouldn't it be better to go to the last screen or Main Menu? That would also allow changing settings.

Steve, any news on this?

Hi Dominik,

Thanks for that.

I'm unlikely to work on this until I get my H300 back, would prefer to check that the patch resolves all cases where the unit gets stuck when operating solely from the remote.

Feel free to commit if you're happy with it though.

(IIUC, there's no "H300" LCD remote, it's the same as the H100 one, so you've probably covered that.)
