FS#8875 - pressing 'short select'(Ipod) in WPS should follow playlist when playling started from a playlist

In “general settings/file view” the option says “follow playlist”.
Even if you set it to “yes” short “select” (on Ipod) in WPS does not follow the playlist you started playling from but the directory the current file is in. This is maybe good for people using “finely tuned” directory structure for managing/playling their files but it is not for people using mainly playlists, or a whoe strucutere of them in different directories, for that purpose and having only 1 (or maybe 2 or 3) directory for putting all their files in it.

Rockbox seems in this respect a bit too less playlist-oriented.

Why is it not satisfying?
You can put 1 track on more than one playlists (like: ‘funny’, ‘birthday’, ‘fast’, ‘slow’…) using playlists as different categories to which a single track can belong (this is not the same thing like only 1 genre). Now you use only playlists (instead of directories) for management/finding/starting… of your tracks and put all the tracks in only 1 directory on your player.

This single directory with, let’s say 1000-3000 tracks in it, is of little help if you want to find a track you need belonging to one of you playlist categories.

That’s why it is meaningless to you getting to that 1 directory (by pressing ‘select’) with all of your tracks when you never start playing from there but always do it from a playlist in a nicely sorted and arranged directory structue with only playlists in them.
