FS#9447 - Dead iPod 5g, after rockbox database update and attempted reboot
My install computer is osx, on a 5G ipod 80gig.
I installed rockbox 3.0, following the directions from page 13-16 from the manual.
Things looked, and acted fine for the first night. This morning, I copied over all my music (~70 gigs). Then I rebuilt the database library by clicking on the item in the main menu. A few minutes later it finished, and said I needed to reboot. I did, and the iPod has never turned back on!
It does not turn on by button presses, or by putting it in the ipod usb cradle.
So, it appears pretty much dead. No power on the screen, no ‘disk mode’ view from the disk utility on my computer.
Am I simply out of luck? Is there anything that can be done more?
