FS#9565 - rockbox utility 1.0.7 linux (rbutilqt) doesn't install rockbox on my H320
hi, i am not able to get the rockbox utility for linux* working for me, for installing rockbox 3.0. (i’ve installed earlier versions of rockbox on my H320 before, doing it manually. but the disk has been wiped because i sent it into iriver for repair. now i’m trying the rockbox utility to install 3.0).
there are several “bumps” i encounter as i try to run the app, and i’ve recorded these as a screencast, and put it here:
http://rotoquest.com/misc/rbutilqt-v1.0.7_screencast_20081120.ogv
please let me know if i’m just doing something really stupid, and have missed something basic, or if there is something i can do to fix this, or if there is any more information i can provide to be helpful.
thanks.
jeff

sorry, meant to mention also that i am using fedora 8, with all the latest patches/rpms applied, and the 2.6.26.3-14 kernel.
Please post the actual problems you have, instead of limiting those who help you to “those who are able to watch a video”
no, thanks. there were too many to document without taking longer than my lunch break. if you want to improve your rockbox utility, watch the video. i have already taken the time to post to your site, creating a login for myself, and creating the screencast. that’s all i’m willing to do. if you don’t want to answer me, that’s fine, too. i’ll just install manually. it’s your product.
Some of us are unable to watch the video. If you don’t want help, that’s fine, but seriously, is typing that difficult for you?
