I just loaded 3.1 onto an Ipod 30g Video, following the directions in the manual. It loaded well, and was working. I was going thru some of the settings and hit one of the options (sorry that I don't recall which one). When I did, the drive spun down, and I got a message on the screen that says, "*PANIC* Dir entry 15 in sector 1 is not free! 41 6E 00 76" and I can't turn the Ipod off (nor can I restart/reboot/ it). I am letting the battery run down to see what happens to it, but how do I fix this? How can I restart. Holding the buttons on the control panel has no effect. Plugging the Ipod into the USB connector has no effect. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Reason for closing:  Invalid
Additional comments about closing:  No reason to assume that this was really a bug and not just some filesystem corruption, and no updates for nearly a year

You can reset it by holding menu + select. If you can reproduce it, try scanning the disk for errors.
