FS#9785 - Broken wav file playback

Hi folks,

I also encountered this bug in firmware version 3.0 (stable) - but (almost) not in (my first Rockbox) version 17041-080480 - using an Apple iPod Video 5th
gen., 60G. (CD ripped) wav files playback is like 1s play then 5s pause then 1s
play 5s pause 1s play …. .
While sometimes “it gets better”, meaning it commences to play normally,
sometimes it seems no to “recover”. I couldn´t figure out under which
conditions this “recovery” happens, if so. Tried several files but didn´t find any difference.
Now, having gone back to Rockbox version 17041-080480, only “newer” files
show that behaviour, but after fast forwarding a track or skipping to the next the
player “recovers” (feels like the player has to warm up)
“Newer” files have been encoded with Max v0.8.1, using signed 16bit PCM,
older files I can’t remember.
Mp3 playing works all ok.
As file sizes are all >50M, so I obviously I can´t provide upload.

Regards,
Michael

No feedback.

Has anyone else seen this effect of skipping for WAV files?
Heinz - does the problem persist if you reset your rockbox settings, disable any EQ or signal processing effects in rockbox, and use a WPS without a peakmeter (e.g. ‘Cabbiev2’ WPS instead of the ‘default’ WPS) ?

Is this still happening or shall we close this report?
