FS#9889 - After auto-shutdown sometimes Ipod 5G won't boot
Ipod 5G 60Gb, after auto-shutdown pressing Select sometimes doesn’t work, you have to hard boot with Select+Menu to boot. If it’s not starting on pressing Select isn’t this a bug of rockbox’s bootloader? This problem doesn’t occur with the original firmware, so what else is causing it?

Rockbox’s bootloader isn’t what’s waiting for the press of the Select button. Apple’s code is.
Apple’s firmware rarely actually shuts down (it suspends in a low power mode and doesn’t shut down until over a day later, that’s why you almost never see the Apple logo when starting your iPod) so this bug isn’t seen nearly as often with the Apple main firmware running.
ok thanks for explanation, close this and hope that the suspend mode is supported one day
