Just as the summary says. Noticed the behavior after 3.0 release. It is present in 3.1 as well as the daily build from 2009.01.09. Gigabeat F and iPod Video 80GB exibit this behavior. Haven’t tested other targets yet.

There is a new playback bug that causes a track to repeat even though repeat is DISABLED. The bug occurs as follows: play the first track in a directory and allow playback to continue normally through the playlist. I’m guessing that the repeat occurs when playback reaches the end of the buffer. The song at the end of the buffer? repeats and the playlist information moves to the next track. i.e. The ID3 info still shows the track that is repeated, but the playlist info shows “6 of 10” even the track 5 is being repeated. Clear enough?

This has occurred on my iRiver H140 and H320, Sansa e280 and Gigabeat F so it’s not target specific. It showed up within the last two weeks, but at this time I can’t be more specific about the date it was introduced.

I’d like to display ReplayGain album and/or track values in a while playing screen. My guess is that this wouldn’t be difficult to accomplish. One of these days I’ll get my development environment set up and give it a go myself if some other helpful person doesn’t get to it first.

It doesn’t happen every time, but is still occuring using the CVS build 060609-0019. I use the quick menu to make the fileview change.

Using the CVS build from 20060606, I get a freeze requiring a hard reset when the fileview is set to ID3 database and the auto-change directory option set to yes results in the next album being played. The crash occurs as soon as the navi button is pushed to navigate the ID3 database after the next album has started to play automatically.

I’ve noticed that the auto change directory only works if the next ID3 entry also happens to be the next directory in the file tree on the hard drive. So if the auto change is succussful and the fileview is set to ID3 database, as soon as the joystick is pressed in to navigate the freeze occurs. The ID3 database is not displayed before the crash.

I can only test this behavior on my H140 or H120.

When connecting the USB cable, Windows does not recognize the player at all. I’ve verified that the 2006.05.02 and 05.03 builds have this problem.

When attempting to open a text file with the “viewer” plugin, the screen goes blank, the hard drive spins endlessly and the H120 crashes. Hard reset is the only way out. Using 2006.05.03 build.
