11264 | Rockbox | Bugs | User Interface | Low | FMS | 2010-05-12
Task Description
%?tm doesn’t seem respected in the menus - e.g. I am in preset mode, so %?tm is false. I exit the fms to menu with radio playing, so my %?mp tag in my sbs calls a specific viewport, which has %?tm<aaa|bbb>. bbb should be displayed as I was in preset mode in the fms, but aaa is displayed. aaa is also displayed if I left the fms in scan mode.
The progress bar also doesn’t seem to respect the currently playing thing in menus - I exit the fms with radio playing to menu, and the progress bar in the sbs goes back to zero instead of showing the position of the current frequency on the bar as it does when actually in the fm screen.
Sorry to only spot these now :)

11100 | Rockbox | Bugs | User Interface | Low | Bug in statusbar handling on targets with LCD remote | 2010-03-13
Task Description
If a target has a LCD remote and the WPS contains %wd and the RWPS %we (as could be quite common given the small size of the remote LCD) then the statusbar is shown on the WPS anyway. It sometimes goes off on pressing a button, but comes back on the next button press. It is shown correctly (and permanently) on the RWPS.
See discussion starting here: http://www.rockbox.org/irc/log-20100313#12:32:37 (Initially about the FMS patch, but then becomes general).

Task Description
–debugwps output doesn’t say which screen it is talking about. With 6 (fms, wps, sbs + remote varieties) it is really hard to tell what output is for which screen.

10969 | Rockbox | Bugs | Themes | Low | WPS background not fully overwriting menu backdrop | 2010-02-05 | 11 |
Task Description
Menu looks like menu.bmp, the time at the top and the section at the bottom are from the .sbs The UI viewport is in the black box. The wps background is wpsbackdrop.bmp which should draw over the backdrop when in the WPS
The WPS actually looks like wps-glitch.bmp. The complete theme is also attached. Hopefully this isn’t just an error in the theme! Tests performed with r24511

9895 | Rockbox | Patches | Manual | Low | Reorganisation/partial rewrite of installation chapter | 2009-02-11 | 12 |
Task Description
Presently there is much information relevant for the install as a whole hidden away on the manual install section. Also, there is some repeated and some unnecessary information that in my opinion just serves to confuse.
This patch aims to bring common information to the start, then have the two methods where they differ, then have a finishing installation section that is common to both.
I also attach some sample pdfs - please have a look and let me know where it can be improved, what information is missing or inaccurate, etc.

9414 | Rockbox | Bugs | Music playback | Low | r18557 causes static when playing MP3 | 2008-09-22
Task Description
Reports in the forum and confirmed by n1s show that r18557 adversly effects the H300 (and I’d guess other coldfire targets).
One channel is apparently just static.
See http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=18632.0 and from n1s in IRC:
“n1s yep, r18556 is fine r18557 has a nasty noise in the right channel with mp3 (left is fine)” “n1s and r18563 is still affected”
Saratoga, I hope you don’t mind me assigning this to you - it was just to make sure you noticed!

9228 | Rockbox | Patches | Build environment | Low | rockboxdev.sh options slightly confusing | 2008-07-31 | 2 |
Task Description
With the addition of building the mips compilers to rockboxdev.sh, the menu option “all” now appears after the four individual options, but says build all three compilers. This is confusing - it initially looks like it is a typo and it should say all four, but in actual fact “all” still only builds sh, cf and arm. This is correct as (as I understand it) it is uncertain that the mips version included is the correct version, and thus it remains an explicit option until it is confirmed.
This patch doesn’t change any functionality at all, it simply moves “all” above mips to show that “all” does not include mips, but only sh, cf and arm to make it clear what compilers “all” actually builds.
This isn’t a big deal and might not be worth the bother, but I for one was confused :)

8034 | Rockbox | Bugs | Music playback | Low | Codec failure on gigabeat since metadata on buffer | 2007-10-26
Task Description
I got a codec error on the gigabeat just now by resuming a playlist (from cold boot), then after a second or two pressing skip to next track (this is MP3 to OGG). It then proceeded to start to go through every other track (all MP3 after the first two) of my 700 track playlist saying codec failure, and the only way I could stop it was the battery switch. With R15309.

7132 | Rockbox | Bugs | Operating System/Drivers | Low | Gigabeat freezes on shutdown after button light commit | 2007-05-08
Task Description
As reported by a few people in http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=10260.0
During shutdown (shutting down is displaying), the screen goes dark (I assume backlight off) and the button lights remain on. If you tilt the screen you can still see shutting down on it. The only way to do anything with the gigabeat is then to flick the battery switch on and off. This did not occur prior to the recent commits on button light. I’ll try and see if I can narrow down exactly which one caused the problem.

Task Description
The power and select buttons are swapped in the WPS compared to the equivalent buttons on the H1x0. This patch reverses them so that power pauses and select goes to file browser, analogous to play and navi on the H1x0 to be consistent across targets.

6883 | Rockbox | Bugs | User Interface | Medium | Follow playlist override where the WPS leaves you when ... | 2007-03-21
Task Description
I think that follow playlist should override where the WPS puts you back to when playback ends, as discussed in http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=9220.msg73000#msg73000.
As Llorean said, “I do think that if you have “Follow Playlist” on, when the playlist ends the WPS should drop you in the filetree no matter where you called the WPS from though. Follow Playlist seems like it should be an override to that behaviour, I just don’t think it needs to affect the file browser entry in the Main Menu at all.”

As discussed in http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=9220.0, it would be really useful if position in file tree was remembered across restarts so that on a reumed playlist finishing you are where you were rather than back in root.

6876 | Rockbox | Bugs | Remote | Low | Reset settings via gigabeat remote with hold on main un ... | 2007-03-21
Task Description
If you turn the unit on with the remote but with the main unit hold switch on, settings are reset.
When the check for hold to reset settings is done, is it possible to tell whether it was remote or main unit that was used to power on, and only reset settings if the corresponding hold switch is on, and not the other?
I often have the main unit in my pocket with hold on and turn on with the remote, thereby resetting settings.
Following a discussion on IRC with markun and barrywardell, it has been suggested either to move reset settings to a different button combination (maybe A?), or to only do it when remote is unplugged. I don’t mind, I’ll leave it to whoever implements it.
