7783 RockboxFeature RequestsUser InterfaceLow Prevent bass and treble menus from wrapping 2007-09-15 Task Description

If you go to Settings→Sound Settings→Bass/Treble you can cut off the bass/treble by 24 DB. However, if you would go down one step more, you’d end up with a bass/treble boost of 24 DB. This may do serious damage to the player/headphones, especially on higher volumes. So stopping the wrappiing-effect of these menus may be a good idea, even though not many people will encounter this as a problem (who ever wants to cut off that much bass?).

7684 RockboxFeature RequestsUser InterfaceLow Setting for fast and normal voice 2007-08-312 Task Description

Could there be a setting to either use or not use the VOICE_PAUSE.wav-file so the voice can be fast or normal? I’m used to a short pause time between words/characters, so the 300ms silence kinda annoy me. And I think this applies to more (mainly blind?) users.

I suppose the easiest way to implement something like this would be to fill the space of the pausefile with just a few bits instead of the whole file.
I know building a complete new voicefile will be a bit too much for the few users that need this.

7575 RockboxBugsLanguageLow Language string LANG_FM_US doesn't talk 2007-08-102 Task Description

The voicestring LANG_FM_US doesn’t talk, maybe because of the slash in that string: “US / Canada”. This option is in FM Radio→Context Menu→Region and the bug appears in the daily built voicefile from Linux.

7556 RockboxBugsUser InterfaceMedium Initial display of menu during playback is not spoken 2007-08-0714 Task Description

I encountered several bugs that were introduced by/after the new voicefiles. Fixing these bugs would certainly improve the usability of Rockbox.
- The voice that is used in the daily builds says the letter A as in “a file”, whereas it should spell it like in “ABC”. A fix for the pronunciation can solve this issue, if this is available under Linux(?).
- Entering the main menu (pressing the Record button) while playing a file seems to do nothing. But strangely enough it opens the menu after three presses. When the menu has been opened once, the Record button suddenly behaves normally. But as soon as you change directory it breaks again.
- Pressing Long Record during playback caused my player to crash and after rebooting the whole configuration(file) was reset to the default settings. I haven’t been able to reproduce this bug yet though.

7464RockboxBugsFM TunerLowSmall weaknesses in FM-radio on iAudio X52007-07-219 Task Description

I'm using the newest build of Rockbox (2007-07-21) with an iAudio X5 20 GB and I have my tuner set to the European region. I encounter two little flaws in the FM-radio. I think they partially have to do with the player's hardware, but maybe Rockbox can improve the quality a bit.

1. The player is really sensitive to movement. The signal strength differs with every meter that you take the player with you. On top of that, most stations sound like they're not correctly tuned, but I can't get them any better. Maybe Rockbox could be more accurate in frequency selection? (Like 101.100, 101.125, 101.150.) I can get these stations quite well on my home radio. I don't expect the same quality from such a small device, but some finetuning would be great. The only problem is that it would take a while to scroll through the frequencies, but once set it'd be fine.
2. (I assume this is very hardware related.) The radio signal may change between stereo and mono. I have it set to stereo, but sometimes it just picks mono. I guess this is because of the hardware, since it is place related. I also didn't find any potential bugs in the source code.

What are your thoughts on this?

Oh, and keep up this good work! I really enjoy Rockbox!
