 13100 RockboxBugsMusic playbackLow Player fails on short tracks 2017-01-255 Task Description

On short tracks e.g. 0.5s:

1) Files, track, Select fails to play the track, despite that the WPS appears and shows the track and the playing icon. Track Skip to the next track fails to start that playing, and so on until the last track in the current playlist, which does start playing.

Workaround: press Play/Pause to pause, then press again to play.

2) Files, long select, Properties fails to show the duration.

Workaround: none known in Rockbox.

These issues do not appear on 1s files.

Demo on Windows Simulator build 9d0c0e3-170115 using custom WPS displaying current playlist, showing:

* first 1s tracks succeeding
* then 0.5s tracks failing

 13096 RockboxBugsBattery/ChargingLow Playlist Catalogue > Add to New Playlist misplaces care ...2017-01-081 Task Description

I found this on Creative ZEN, but I’d guess it is present on all players.

Playlist Catalogue > Add to New Playlist places the caret /after/ the extension http://i.imgur.com/C8zcSto.png , the default result of the user entering character is a filename having a different extension http://i.imgur.com/D5aEiA8.png and hence unrecognised by RB.

User workaround: Click Up, Left, Left, Left, Left, Down

Proposed fix: place the caret at the end of the basename http://i.imgur.com/ahtOfnm.png

 13095 RockboxBugsManualLow Manual (C) message out of date 2017-01-07 Task Description

Daily build: Unknown, since I can find no build ID on the manual. It's the one at https://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-ipodvideo.pdf on https://www.rockbox.org/daily.shtml at time of writing - 2017-01-07 .

Issue: The Manual (C) message is out of date: "© 2003-2013 The Rockbox Team and its contributors"

13094RockboxBugsMusic playbackLowPlaying a zero-duration WMA causes crash2016-12-2013 Task Description

Build 575bd89 2016-12-19

Playing the attached zero-duration WMA '_ length 0.0s WMA.wma' causes crash:

Divide by zero at 6008D274
pc:6008D2&4 sp:600CC7DC
bt end

This WMA file was created by Goldwave and plays without crash in Windows Media Player, GoldWave and MediaMonkey.

Zero-length WAV and MP3 files (examples attached) don't cause a crash.

On the latest development iPod Video and ZEN simulators, MP3 and WAV are reported 'failed' and WMA crashes http://i.imgur.com/k3dKaSN.png http://i.imgur.com/CiYnVuH.png

 13091 RockboxBugsManualLow Rockbox Manual Install webpage manual links for some si ...2016-12-14 Task Description

I’m marking this bug as Category Manual, since that’s the most appropriate of those on offer.

I’m marking this bug as Reported Version Release 3.13 since that version is mentioned on the faulty page, an no other options seems more appropriate.

* the step-by-step procedure that arrives at the problem

Go to https://www.rockbox.org/download/byhand.cgi (archived at http://web.archive.org/web/20161214010010/https://www.rockbox.org/download/byhand.cgi )and click e.g. Creative ZEN X-Fi Manual http://i.imgur.com/vRbsWP6.png

* the behaviour you expected

Access to the Creative ZEN X-Fi Manual for Rockbox. Because though the Rockbox program is not available for this target, the simulator is.

* the behaviour you observed, including e.g. Data Abort details.

Not Found http://i.imgur.com/W8Im32V.png

* the Rockbox version identifier, found at System > Rockbox Info, e.g. 9ff1819-131202

Does not apply.

The same fail occurs on about a dozen other targets.

I suggest it would be best to remove links for unavailable resources.

 12950 RockboxBugsRbutilLow RBUtil Philips and Samsung manual links fail 2014-02-022 Task Description

See http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,44703.msg226833.html#msg226833

I tagged this task Reported Version RBUtil 1.3.1 because that’s the available option nearest to the actual reported version, 1.4.1 .

 12948 RockboxBugsBattery/ChargingLow Manual refers to absent "Max files in dir browser" sett ...2014-01-284 Task Description

The Sansa Fuze manual http://download.rockbox.org/release/3.13/rockbox-sansafuze-3.13.pdf page 29, section 4.2.4, refers to a “Max files in dir browser” setting that is absent from the program UI.

See screenshots at http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,46389.msg224956.html#msg224956

I’m guessing this is a bug in the manual rather than a bug in the program.

This task is tagged “All players” only because Sansa Fuze is missing from Operating System, but this bug may well be present in all players.

12947RockboxBugsRbutilLowRockbox Utility manual version and installed program ve...2014-01-24 Task Description

The manual offered by Rockbox Utility is not necessarily the version that accords with the installed (or to-be-installed) program.

E.g. select Release 3.13, and the Manual offered is http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-sansafuze.pdf not http://download.rockbox.org/release/3.13/rockbox-sansafuze-3.13.pdf .

http://www.rockbox.org/irc/log-20140124#15:41:22 says this is a bug. Since the user does reasonably expect a manual to accord with the program, I too think this is a bug. Whether it is a design bug or code bug, I cannot guess.

Note: this task says Operating System: All players but only because the actual player, Sansa Fuze, is not offered. Though this issue may indeed apply to all players.

On Daily Builds Archived page http://www.rockbox.org/daily.shtml , the “latest” line’s build ID can be incorrect. E.g. currently for Archos Recorder v1, the line is “latest (6022d31)” whereas the latest (on that link) is actually build ID 87c6df9 (six weeks behind, due presumably to build fails). http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/7076/rnv1.png

 12913 RockboxBugsManualLow Manual version number is missing 2013-11-251 Task Description

What behaviour you are seeing: The Manual version number is missing. The Manual states “Version rUnversioned”.

What behaviour you expected: Some version identification, e.g. the number of the Rockbox program to whihch the manual pplies, plus a manual-sepcific sub-version number.

How to reproduce the bug: See e.g. http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-sansaclipplus.pdf page 2 and http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-sansaclipplus.pdf .

The SVN revision/release you are using and if possible the particular SVN revision in which you think the bug was introduced: These manuals are at links provided by the Rockbox Utility in Rockbox 3.13 Download - current at http://www.rockbox.org/download/ .

I’v marked this “Operating System All players” on the basis that all the players I’ve tried show this issue - but I haven’t tried all.
