Hardware

Device I/O

• Input
  • buttons: (on front:) Menu/Back, Options, up, left, OK, right, down, My Shortcut, Play/Pause, (on bottom) reset, (on top:) On/Off/Lock (one-way push button, in contrast to other ZEN models)
  • microphone
• Output:
  • display
  • earphone jack and A/V out (on a single connector)
• Input/output: USB port

Internals

The following chips can be found on the PCB:

• STMP3780 (see SigmaTelSTMP3xxx, STMP37xxChips or the SansaFuzePlus page - which uses the same SoC - for more information)
• 2 Hynix 4GB NAND flash chips (see Hynix part decoder - NAND flash)
• 1 Hynix Mobile DDR H5MS5182DFR 512M 4 banks (see Hynix part decoder)
• 1 Phison PS8006-A SD controller
• LCD controller, there are two models, one is mostly compatible with ILI9325 and the other seem to be ILI9320
• a STFM1000 tuner chip

Recovery Mode

The ZEN X-Fi Style features two recovery modes:

• Creative recovery mode: can be access by holding the back button while powering on
• Sigmatel hardware recovery mode: hold the select button while plugging the USB cable (from a power off state)
