Eros Q Native Port TroubleshootingPlease note that we have a whole manual which may answer your questions, especially if they are for Rockbox in general rather than specifically for the Eros Q hardware. It is located here for a PDF or even here for an online version. Here are some basic troubleshooting points - more to come, of course:My display is inverted! There was a hardware display change between hw2 and hw3 revisions - you probably have the wrong bootloader installed. Please go back and reinstall the correct bootloader for your device's Original Firmware version. You can do so by using the correct update file from the wiki page. The bootloader menu is accessed by holding Volume Up while booting, then you will select Aigo Recovery.I upgraded Rockbox and now my screen is just all white! You probably have an early bootloader installed. We added a way for the bootloader to report a hardcoded hardware version number to Rockbox, but eary bootloaders don't have this, and it will think that it is a newer hardware than it is. Try updating your bootloader to the one linked on the AIGOErosQK wiki page for your hardware version. You may need to use the "jztool" method to install the newer one.I don't have any sound from the headphone port! Are you using headphones or an amplifier of some sort? The way that the headphone detection is done, it cannot detect any device which has a "high impedance" input, like an amplifier. Please use the Line output. If you need to reduce the volume, use the Maximum Volume Limit setting. As of Dec. 7, 2024, we now have a setting to force the device to use either Headphone or Line Out outputs. It is located at Sound Settings --> Output Select. Please see the Manual section 6.8 for more information. My USB-C Cable doesn't work! You're probably using a hw2 or hw3 unit with a USB-C to USB-C cable - the hw2 and hw3 players have a faulty USB-C design which does not allow the use of such cables. Use a USB-C to USB-A (regular type USB) cable, even if it is with a USB-A to USB-C adapter on the computer end. That should work. This issue does not affect hw4 units.I get an error saying "error loading rockbox, file not found"This is all but guaranteed to be due to one of two problems. Either you did not unzip the rockbox firmware onto the root directory of the SD card, or the SD card itself is formatted as exFAT instead of FAT32. SD cards larger than 32GB are factory formatted as exFAT, but Rockbox only supports FAT32 at this time.I select "Firmware Update" from the Original Firmware, but the device simply reboots with no change.Apparently some Hifiwalker H2 V1.3 devices (that being one known occurrence) have a bug where they cannot get in to the original firmware's updater, either by selecting Firmware Update from the original firmware or from holding (VolUp + Power) when the device is off. In the latter case, the device will just continuously boot-loop rather than go into the updater. In this case, you can still install Rockbox, but using the jztool method is your only option. Please follow the instructions on the JztoolInstall page to install the bootloader manually. -- DanaConrad - 22 Dec 2024r7 - 05 Apr 2025 - 21:28:58 - UnknownUser
